About ACT
At ACT, we are more than just a school. We are a family. We have one school with 2 pathways to success. Albanian College is a fully-authorised International Baccalaureate World School offering the internationally prestigious Diploma Programme to students who meet the admissions requirements.
The IB Diploma Programme is a rigorous academic programme that prepares students for university. Students are required to take at least two languages (English, Albanian, and/or French), maths, at least one science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and/or Computer Science ) at least one Individuals and Societies (History, Geography), and may take Visual Arts. Additionally, students complete the Core which includes Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay, and CAS.
The IB Primary Years Programme is an inquiry-based curriculum designed to grow and develop the natural intelligence and curiosity in children ages 3-10. Teaching centers around thematic units that allow students to connect knowledge and skills to their own experience and understanding. Students are encouraged to ask questions, be curious, research, communicate what they know, and to enjoy learning.
The IB Middle Years Programme develops knowledge and skills. Students take English Language and Literature, Albanian Language and Literature or Albanian Ab Initio, French, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Design, Physical Education, Visual Arts, Music, Drama, and Individuals and Societies, while also participating in Service as Action. Students complete a comprehensive Personal Project in Grade 10.
